If there are multiple possible destinations, the number of items in each logistics pipe will be interpreted as a desired ratio. The item is then routed through the network using the shortest path possible to its destination. When an item enters any logistics pipe, the logistics manager will tell the pipe where to send the item. The purpose of this is to have that type of item delivered to the pipe (or attached chest). This pipe has an interface which can be opened with a "Prototype OmniWrench", where you can put items (not too unlike the diamond pipe). Any item entering a network that does not have a specific route will also be dropped if there is not a configured default route. If no non-routed exits exist the item will be dropped. Routed exits have a green stripe, non-routed exits have a red stripe.
Items reaching its destination will be emitted on any exit which does not have a route. Using this information it is possible to calculate the shortest distance to any other logistics pipe in the network. By doing this each pipe can get a clear picture of all other pipes on the network and how far it is to get there. Unlike other BuildCraft pipes, logistics pipes communicate with other logistics pipes connected to the same network. The Gold Waterproof Pipe is almost the same as a Stone or Cobblestone Waterproof pipe, it transports liquids from one place to another however, it has the highest transport capacity of all Waterproof pipes making it the most effective. Players who have not mined enough redstone can simply use a Wrench. This combination of properties allows for players to accurately control its output direction from afar, via redstone wiring in addition, this can be used to distribute liquids among multiple pipes by using a redstone clock. However, it will never output to a Wooden Waterproof Pipe. Every time it either loses or gains redstone power, it will cycle to a different output. The output direction can also be changed by redstone current. The direction can be changed by right-clicking the pipe with a Wrench. It will send all incoming liquids in one direction. The Iron Waterproof Pipe has up to five inputs and one output. This fact can be used to make tight and compact pipes that are travelling to the same area and can be used when in compact spaces. Stone and Cobblestone Waterproof Pipes will not connect to each other. Stone and Cobblestone Waterproof Pipes are the basic liquid transport pipes. This is done by placing an engine next to the Wooden Waterproof Pipe.
Waterproof Pipes allow liquids to be pulled out of a tank or oil refinery.
